Love how you were made

..... I have gotten my fair share of public opinions

and friendships.

I am amongst the people with the most nastiest

of experiences when it comes to friends and

what most people think about body types.

I will constantly choose my peace over these

overemphasized so called besties and self made

body analyzers who think they can tell you how to

look, in other to fit in.

Let me explain one of many experiences I have

 had over the years.

I grew up knowing I was structurally different

from all of my peers it was for this reason some

people’s attitude towards me made me feel less

confident in all I do.

There are nights I stayed up waxing my face,

limbs and tummy, while during the day, I am busy

deliberating on food strikes because I hate being

a thick, hairy, dark and curvy woman . I used to

lay all day on my bed, imagining how beautiful I

could have been if I was lean with a flat tummy.

Long story short, by twenty-five I was diagnosed

with Bulimia along side loads of other eating

disorders and also suicidal tendencies, all

because I decided to listen to the definition of

body types from the street or where so ever. Now

I am thirty I still look thick and hairy, I am married

with two kids and they are both thick and hairy. I

am going to spend time teaching them the

confidence I never had that almost killed me. My

whole tear was, I would not fit in because this is

how most of my friends put it to me, but now I

don’t care if I am uncool, hence I am alive .

Love how you were made.

  1. It's funny how through time, body changes becomes something we shouldn't worry about, realize how those things doesn't make you happy. Thanks for this piece Mam
