Flower Boy

 

This is a story about a garden of flowers

and a boy 

a boy who has grown to adore the showers 

of rain

 as they drop down each petal 

ever more beautiful in his eyes 

filling him up with great joy

He is the flower boy 

a wide eyed admirer of Mother Nature and her gifts 

but

this one to him is not a toy 

this flower in particular has to be his favorite 

there's just something about it that has him intrigued

He doesn't care much for daisies

and dandelions, no

he'd give the world to see his flower grow

he's not as moved by the lilies

or orchids or dahlias in the field

during the spring of May

he'd take the bright yellow of his

over the blood red of roses

anytime and anyday
