TILL DEATH BRINGS US TOGETHER
Why cry when one departs?
A fellow runner had ended his track.
And, on an unknown day,
We would take our final lap;
Call to victory, call to rest.
Why cry when one goes before others
To speak to the angels on our behalf,
To secure us a place we will find to lay
When we cross the bridge
To the place that is truly home?
We should cheer him up and on.
For what we fear
He had embraced,
Showing us how easy it is to die,
And how hard it is to be left behind.
Cheer, instead of mourning.
Arrange and put your house in order.
Someday you will stand with him;
Side by side.
Prepare for the day,
When death bridges the gap.
